Terms & Conditions


SpeakWell Speech and Language Therapy

Please read the following Terms and Conditions carefully. By booking an assessment or therapy session, you agree to the terms outlined below.

  1. About the Service
    SpeakWell Speech and Language Therapy is an independent speech and language therapy service for children and young people. All assessment and therapy is delivered by a qualified and HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.

  2. Referrals and Consent
    – A parent or legal guardian must provide consent before any assessment or therapy takes place.
    – By completing the contact form or booking a session, you confirm that you have parental responsibility for the child or have permission to act on their behalf.
    – You agree to share relevant background information (e.g., medical, educational or developmental history) to support accurate assessment and clinical decision-making.

  3. Fees and Payment
    – Fees for assessment and therapy will be clearly outlined before booking.
    – Payment is required at least 48 hrs before any session takes place. If this payment is not received. The session will not go ahead. 
    – Reports, programmes and written documents will only be released once payment has been received.

  4. Cancellations and Refunds
    – Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the session will not be charged.
    – Cancellations made within 48 hours of the session, or missed appointments (“no-shows”), are charged at the full session fee.
    – If the therapist cancels a session, you may either reschedule or receive a full refund.
    – If you have paid for a block of sessions, unused sessions can be refunded if at least 48 hours’ notice is given before the next appointment.
    – Once an assessment has been carried out, the assessment fee is non-refundable.

  5. Attendance and Punctuality
    – Sessions begin and end at the agreed time.
    – If you arrive late, the session will still finish at the scheduled time and the full fee will apply.

  6. Reports and Documentation
    – Reports, therapy plans and written recommendations are charged separately unless otherwise agreed.
    – All documents remain the intellectual property of SpeakWell Speech and Language Therapy and must not be shared without permission, except with school staff or relevant professionals supporting your child’s care.

  7. Liaison with Schools and Other Professionals
    – With parental consent, the therapist may liaise with school staff, SENCOs, healthcare professionals or other relevant individuals to support the child’s care.
    – Any school visit or meeting may incur an additional fee, which will be discussed before booking.

  8. Data Protection and Confidentiality
    – All personal information is stored securely and in line with GDPR requirements.
    – Information will only be shared with others when you provide consent or if legally required (e.g., safeguarding).
    – You may request access to your child’s records in writing at any time.

  9. Safeguarding
    – The therapist has a duty of care to safeguard children. If there are concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing, the therapist is legally obliged to share relevant information with safeguarding services

  10. Disclaimer
    – Speech and language therapy outcomes vary from child to child. No therapist can guarantee specific results, but evidence-based strategies and professional judgement will always be used.
    – You agree to follow home-practice recommendations where appropriate, as this is essential for progress.

  11. Complaints
    If you are unhappy with any aspect of the service, please raise your concerns directly. If we are unable to resolve the issue, you may contact the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). https://www.hcpc-uk.org/concerns/raising-concerns/public/
