My Story

Hi, I’m Matt, a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist based in Bristol. I’ve worked in the NHS for the past nine years, supporting children and young people with a wide range of communication needs. Over that time I’ve worked with hundreds of children, from early years right up to 18-year-olds, across mainstream schools, specialist settings and community clinics.

I’ve been lucky to work with almost every client group you can think of: speech sound difficulties, language delays and disorders, autism and social communication needs, complex needs, and everything in between. What this experience has given me is a real instinct for putting children at ease quickly. Young people often tell me they feel comfortable with me straight away, and that’s something I’m really proud of.

Alongside being a therapist, I’m also a dad to two young children. That perspective shapes how I work: I understand what it’s like to want the very best for your child, and how frustrating it can feel when you’re stuck on a long waiting list or worried about how things are going at school.

My goal is simple: to help children communicate as confidently and effectively as they can, so they can thrive at home, build friendships and feel more secure in their learning. I know many families face long waits for assessment and support, so I aim to offer specialist input quickly, with clear guidance you can use straight away.
